We were at a 1st birthday party for a friend's kid yesterday. The children all went out to the backyard to play with the big plastic house-playset. Unfortunately the bigger boys discovered it could come apart easily and I was called out to scoop up a crying Maggie. Not really hurt, more scared.
So I brought her back in and explained "The house fell on her."
That started Amy trying to comfort Maggie. "Oh, poor Maggie had a house fall on her. Did you feel like the Wicked Witch of the West? . . . Were your feeting sticking out from under it? . . . Did you cry 'I'm melting'? . . . oh, I'm sorry, I went too far."
Me: "That's okay, once you started down that yellow brick road I knew there was no stopping you."
