celticdragonfly and I got into a discussion about some very unlikely hypotheticals and contingency plans for them. Then we got into details on the contingencies. At which point I said:

"Now we're designing the battering ram for besieging the castle in the air."

I always thought that was a Required Activity for fannish engineers.

(A few days ago, I gave serious thought to picking up a couple books at Half-Price just because they'd be good references in case I ever got thrown into a "rebuild society from scratch" post-apocalypse/time-travel/AU scenario. Then I realized what I was doing/thinking and realized how silly it was. After all, how slim are the odds that my library would still be with me in that scenario? *weg*)
