Very true. Occasional death is part of the price paid for pioneering. It is a sign of the sickness of our society that we even question this these days, and respond to deaths in experimental spacecraft accidents as "too high a price to pay." We are saying to ourselves, "Let others make and take the future: we as a society will stay home with Mama," when we do this.
