Being stopped cold on the interstate for 40 minutes sucks. But I'm having a better day than the guy they took away in the helicopter.

Whoa. That sucks. Wish I'd had you take your book with you. I am SOO glad you're not the guy they took away in the helicopter.

Where on the highway was this? And could you see what happened?

On the 820 just before the 30. I suspect one of them was on the onramp that becomes the exit-only lane and the other was changing into that lane. Or it must've been something stupider, maybe on both sides. It was a pickup with a crushed front end and something smaller that was too crumpled to be categorized. There was at least one ambulance in addition to the chopper, looked like the one that hangs out at Marine Creek Blvd.

Any day they don't take you off the freeway in a helicopter can in some way be considered a good day.

He's right on that. A good reminder of how happy and good our lives are, and to appreciate it. :-)

Bad Commuting

No doubt, my friend, no doubt. Then again, think about those of us still in L.A. whose commute is 40 minutes -without- accidents . Mind you, my commute these days is from the bedroom to the desk. I can't even drive yet.

May the fellow they took off in the chopper have a short commute to full recovery.

Hope so. Chopper was on the ground for at least 15 minutes which I found kinda ominous. Either they were still prying him out (quite possible) or they had a lot of work to get him stable enough to move.

I try to remember to think of that frequently - one of the joys of having moved! That and remembering to look at the beautiful wildflowers all over the highway medians. Ahhhh, spring.
