Bird Teens
May. 17th, 2004 12:10 pmCute scene at the birdfeeder yesterday. Three finches were bouncing around it. One was obviously younger by the fluffy plumage and how it acted. While mama and papa finch were chomping down seeds full speed this one would go up to a parent, shake its wings, and open the beak wide--"feed me! feed me!" Baby finch bothered papa first, who provided one seed and sent him over to mama. Mama tried saying "pick 'em up yourself!" but the constant "feed me! feed me!" wingshaking was too much for her and she kept giving it some more.
A nice reminder that even when our kids can fly on their own they're still going to want us helping out.
