I sent an article off to Pyramid magazine six months ago. Sent a query email two weeks ago, haven't heard back yet. I've finally got "The Hills Are Alive With the Sounds of Panic" finished but I'd hate having two articles lost in the same slushpile. OTOH, a GURPS IOU adventure might be more likely to sell than Ogre optional rules for infantry. Dither.

Are there multiple slushpiles you could send these to?

Send 'em in. I just recently got a set of rejections (and a couple acceptances) all at once, since I get an idea, write it up, fire it off to the Pyraslush, and then forget about it till it either appears to my astonishment or SMarsh has a few moments to scrape together and does a Mass Acceptance/Rejection/Consider Altering And I Look Again letter.

How do you manage to get acceptances mailed to you? (aside from being IN Line Editor that is.) Out of the five articles I've had accepted by Pyramid, the only notification I got back was on the first one, which was a rejection with a note that if I sent it back with some modification he'd accept it (which he did).

Thanks for the reminder. I've got articles both partly-written and on the back burner of my brain that I need to write and send in, because with Baby #2 in the planning stage there ain't no way that I'm gonna be getting any pocket money a few months from now.

Email. Or, probably, because I had, like, half a dozen in there and he had to deal with them all at once. Normally I just find them in Pyramid and do a WOOT sort of thing, too. (And the ones that are "Change this and I will look again.")

Oddly enough, SMarsh sent me a confirmation that he accepted my article last night. Wonder if he reads this Livejournal? :)

Not on my f-of list, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was reading Beth's Friends page.

Heh! Who knows? He accepted another of mine (which I have a feeling is many months old!) yesterday/today as well, too. I hope the article is still as creepy as it was when I wrote it, if you see what I mean.
