No Renewal
Nov. 1st, 2004 08:02 pmGot a call this evening from American Home Shield. They're a "home warranty" outfit, supposedly providing home repairs from a central source instead of you having to call a different repairman for every problem that comes up. Hadn't worked out that way.
AHS: "Hi, I'm so-and-so from AHS. Did you know your warranty has expired?"
Me: "And good riddance."
AHS: "Oh, why do you say that?"
Me: [snip litany of hassles and unreturned requests, summarized as no services were ever provided] "But I'll tell you what. If you mail me a refund for the whole year's fee I'll just think of you as 'well meaning incompetents' instead of 'thieves.'" And I hung up.
Most satisfaction I've ever had dealing with that company.
