We've been working hard at positive feedback with Brendan, praising him for everything he does right, and making sure to make it specific rather than just saying "Good job!"

Yesterday he noticed a silverfish scurrying across the kitchen floor and asked "Is that a bug?"

I came over and said "Yes it is, and we don't want them in the kitchen." STOMP.

Brendan: "Good killing it!"

I made it to the next room before collapsing in laughter.

I called Stephanny at the UCLA autism program, and passed the story on. She was highly amused.

The other day I was playing Bejeweled, and it hit one of the multiple-matches where it gives me lots of points and says "Excellent!" Brendan looked over my shoulder and said "Good excellenting!"
