David Drake has an obituary for him that's worth reading. I can't improve on that. Suffice it to say a lot of our library has "Baen" on the spine, and many more are from his years at Ace and Tor.

Ouch. Not a surprise. Good obit, I'm glad he got to read most of that material earlier in the convention bio from which it was largely taken.

Thanks for the post, this is where I have first heard the news. You beat Tom Smith by a full hour and he's usually first with the Death News.

We all owe him such a debt. I'm going to try to write on it later. I never met him, but he is a role model and a major influence nonetheless.
