Last night Maggie began a conversation with "We got you a tool at the store!"
I asked "Did Mamma say that was a secret?"
Pause for thought. "Yes she did!"

Somebody's getting her security clearance revoked.

(chuckle) Kids at that age can't keep secrets,

A couple years ago, Little Bit's sister and their roomate made her mum a birthday cake. When she got home, Little Bit completely blew the surprise. When asked by her mum if she said something she shouldn't have, Little Bit's reply was "No, cake is a *good* word!"

It's hard to keep secrets from kids when you have to shop WITH them.

However, what she told you isn't going to be the least illuminating on what we actually DID, so ha.

Security breach, cleaner squad activated, prepare for sanitization.

Which means she needs a shushing and a bath.

Actually, Celtic Dragon Fly was worse. After getting the lecture all the way home about keeping secrets, she walked in the door and told rlseiver "We bought you a shirt!" Some Christmas secret, eh? I think she was 3 at the time.

See?

Karl had said "years from now when she's a teenager she'll end up going back and reading our old LJ entries." I told him she won't have to wait for that, the family will keep telling the story, just as that story always gets told about me.

Hey, at least I actually had my story straight! :-P

Isn't it a good thing you can't list family members on your SF-86?

Heh ...

ImageOur Receiving Room guy had the same problem ... The Wife TOLD me that I probably shouldn't pick up any packages down there this past week, but I was coming in the back door and he waved me over. He wanted to get a very large (and very clearly labeled as to its contents) box out of there ... I went into a Sgt. Schultz "I saw NOTHINK, I know NOTHINk!" routine as I backed away.

I have since had to "act dumb" about not being able to access certain areas ... since I am now aware that I'm getting a new desk chair from Sanity Clause.

Maggie needs to learn to site sources who spoke on condition of anonymity. :-)

In the interest of full disclosure, I should say that Celtic Dragonfly had the security breach mentioned above, and only that one security breach. However, her adopted sister remained a loose cannon for many years!
