I think the problem at our place would be that the halls don't have enough width, so you'd have to put the bookcase on the inside of the room. Good for storage, bad for secrecy.
Nice, but I've been pricing "hidden doors" by other manufacturers, and they're much too rich for my blood. When I get around to building the bookcase/hidden door which will separate the library from the office, I'll be building my own.
You know... something like that would be great for a home office/work from home scheme. Shelf's closed? Dad's working, and easy to ignore that way. (or, say, if you want to keep a room a secret from kids in perpetuity--but I don't imagine that could work for very long.)
