Choose two of my icons and I will tell you what happens when those two people, or things, or concepts get together. Definition of "get together" may vary. Response may be phrased in the form of a snippet or sentences of random blathering.

For his twelfth birthday Gramma gives Jamie a "My First Scanning Tunneling Microscope" set. Following some instructions downloaded from the net he builds a robotic assembler which can duplicate itself from gypsum. Half the dry-wall in his room is converted to bots before the anti-nanobot spray is delivered by Fedex.

Everyone can think of someone who's a good argument for eugenics. But keeping other people from breeding requires force, so it has to be done by the government if you don't want to create anarchy. The problem is that giving that power to the government can't be constrained by the original intent. So breeding rights would be handed out to those who are useful for the incumbents, and denied to those who interfere with other government goals. In a few generations the country could evolve into separate species of sheep-citizens and wolf-politicians.

GURPS Theatre:

You play actors in a variety show, using your skills to carry out your roles in the sketches and keep the audience entertained as they go disasterously wrong. Will rolls are needed to stay in character on stage. Backstage the characters clash over parts and dressing room space. Has lenses for humans, furries, and Muppets.

Note: GURPS Theatre supports performances of Hamlet and other plays-within-a-play, but greater levels of recursion are deprecated.

Applying a systems engineer mindset to political problems produces a number of proposals for organizing the country. Many of them are extreme in one or another to guarantee that all usable corners of the trade space are being identified. This would lead to a series of trade studies and review to identify requirements, performance criteria, and better design options.

Or it would if everyone had a systems engineer mindset. In practice there will be a portion of the audience deeply attached to something affected by a proposal, so each design option will elicit "Die, Heretic!" in turn from different parties.

This is a rough summary of my other journal (http://libertarianhawk.livejournal.com/).

The Awful Green Thing would chase Kermit into a dead-end corridor. Kermit would break into "It's Not Easy Being Green." The Awful Green Thing would join in and they'd finish it as a duet. Then the Awful Green Thing eats Kermit, lays an egg, and later teaches the song to the hatchling.

Well, let's face it. Sometimes people won't get your point unless you've got a gun in their face. Those people are unfit. Malcolm Reynolds should've gone ahead and done some natural selection but he's not listening to Darwin.
