I was gone yesterday from 8 am to almost midnight, and got home so tired I was zonking out while [livejournal.com profile] celticdragonfly tried to get her first adult conversation of the day. Not that she was mad, she made a nice breakfast for us this morning and we chatted. She mentioned wanting to see the new Harry Potter movie and how the kids would make it impossible. So I checked the listings, found a nearby morning show. She wrestled with the logistics of taking Jamie and I said I'd keep him.
"You can't take care of all three."
"Sure I can."
"He'll never last three hours without a feeding."
"You just put over 10 oz of milk in the fridge."
"He's not bottle trained, you don't even have a bottle."
"He drinks medicine from the dropper."
"The milk's all cold"
[snip exact description of how to warm and test milk]
"But . . . but . . . but . . ."
"Go."

And off she went to the movie.

All three are doing fine. And no, this was NOT an Evil Plot to get myself a bunch of computer time to catch up on yesterday's blogs.

Sounds good to me....

I did likewise for the second Harry Potter movie - took care of Little Bit and shooed her mum and siblings off to see it. (Little Bit was only a few weeks old when the first came out, so her mum didn't want to be seperated from her)

Well, he is a bit handicapped in the lactation department. But other than that he does a fine job.

I do occasionally realize that I'm saying "oh, you couldn't possibly do all that!" while talking about the job I do all day everyday - plus, when I have the kids, it's expected that I'll get them bathed and kept in clean clothes, get enough laundry done to keep us in clean clothes, enough dishes done to keep the kitchen running, etc.

(He did help me get caught up on laundry and dishes today, after I got back, bless him)

Hee hee.

Well, it's not our fault we can't lactate!

I would if I could.

Damn straight.

Heck, the baby even kept down the milk I was giving him him. Sure, the kitchen didn't get any cleaner, but we were all happy. Okay, Jamie was extremely happy to see her come home. Guess the medicine dropper isn't just as good after all.

Can't argue with him, I wouldn't trade. ;-)
