For anyone who's interested and able to come to Fort Worth, we're hosting an evening of card games at our house this Saturday, 5/14, at 6pm. We've got a bunch of games including Illuminati, Unexploded Cow, Fluxx, Give Me the Brain, and my prototype game based on Firefly. Plus a regular deck of cards if people are in the mood for poker. Bring any games you'd like to introduce us to. Please drop me a line if you're coming so I know how many tables to set up.

Drat it all! My finals are both on Saturday, and I have to work Sunday. Hope you have tons of fun, though!

Alas, I'm going to be working that night, or I'd take you up on that...

We'd love to have you, but, yeah, it's a bit far. Maybe we'll bring games next time we're out your way. And you're very welcome if you ever make it out this way.

We have a few games - though they're sorta old.

That reminds me - we need to replace the Settlers of Catan stuff. What we had actually belonged to Sam's son, and went with him when he moved.

Whimper whimper whine, I want to play your Firefly game!

Know anybody at Eden Studios? It's in their slush pile.

Failing that, I'll probably be doing another batch of prototypes down the line when I've got some feedback on the current version. Want to be an official playtester? I figure anything done to prepare an actual business offer to Fox is acceptable to the IP vultures.

Does a baby go goo? Oh hell yes we can help playtest this. I have a little list of Firefly fans to help, too. I'm haven't gamed actively in years, so perhaps I could serve to make sure the instructions are clearly-enough written for the game novice to understand and enjoy.

Just to clarify: this is a book and paper game, not a video game, right?

72 cards and 2 pages of rules, no book, no computer.

If you're interested enough to do color printing on cardstock and cut them all out I can send you softcopy (.ppt and .doc files). A review of the rules would be good, the target market for this is more Firefly fans than gamers. Serious gamers want to make it more complicated.

Send them directly to Jim and he will do them up proud! [happy dance!]

This sounds like so much fun!

If I get my teen "games night" reinstated up at Skykomish (new boss, so who knows?) may I have a copy? It wouldn't be until September, but they're a great bunch of kids, and I know they'd be tickled pink to be on the ground level for something like this.

Probably, if playtesting is still going on (ie, nobody's bought or killed it). I figure playtesting something intended for legal business is safe. Selling or giving it away would bring a whole frenzy of finny Fox IP lawyers down on me.
