I could be misreading this, and I admit I haven't looked for the text of the bill. But it seems to me that rather than improving US/Saudi relations, this is more likely to fuel their dislike of America(ns). Publishing what is described by the articl as "an indictment of Saudi Arabia" does not strike me as a way to gain friends.

On the surface it looks like a necessary step from the standpoint of the "War on Terror," but I'd be interested in hearing other opinions on it.

Also, the reference to the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom caught my attention, since I didn't even know we had one. Can we get a commission on Domestic Religious Freedom, too?

Right now the Saudis are hating Americans and being treated as friends. Changing that is step one.

I saw that in one of your posts on the Browncoats forum you are planning on doing a GURPs Serenity/Firefly. My friends and I are planning on getting a GURPS Firefly game off the ground shortly, and I was hoping to get some input from you. Namely, how do you think Vera should be treated? I think she is a (inordinately?) large bore tech level 7 or 8 semi-automatic rifle with some tech level 8+ modifications.

I know you have a very large collection of source books, can you think of any weapon that she might match her before or after modifications? I would really appriciate the input of someone who has been doing this for a bit longer than I have.

Hmmm, I don't have a good answer to that offhand. The game we ran was using GURPS-Lite and didn't have much combat. The only combat skill that got used was Brawling.

I'd rate Vera as the best rifle available, in 3e a Needle or Gauss Needle Rifle. Or I'd tell the player he could only acquire one in play, to buy time for me to get UltraTech.
