The folks at the Weather Channel are on board with this.
Unless I'm mistaken, they're playing a muzaked version of the title track of the album I linked. Muzaking this particular group is just WRONG, but that's a different discussion...
Hi, just wanted to introduce myself quickly. I found you through zoethe; I added you and celticdragonfly to my fl, hope you don't mind. We seem to have some interests in common, and I like your sense of humor. ;)
New Orleans is like a big, flooded rowboat - they will probably have to break the levy to be able to get the water out. Biggest worry for them is that they become a big toxic cespool - chemicals, human waste, and floating coffins. Whee!
We, on the other hand, have power back - obviously. And cable, and cable internet - God is good! Thank you for all your prayers. Glad we stayed here - had water damage from rain being forced in an attic vent, and running down a window. It could have been much worse had we not been home to counter-attack.
Baton Rouge took a lot of damage because it is heavily wooded (was heavily wooded?) and many trees are down on houses. Here in my new house, I have only baby Magnolias, and down by the lake a clump birch and a baby cypress. Only vegetation damage is to my banana tree - its leaves are shredded and it is leaning over. May be able to prop it back up when we are less soggy.
